It Begins
So over there is a really long list of things that I hope to accomplish in the next 1001 days. This site will document my achievements along the way.
So I guess I'd better get started.

About
The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.
The Criteria:Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined. Tasks must also be realistic and stretching (ie. represent some amount of work on my part).
The 101
1. Learn to play tennis.
2. Go white-water rafting.
3. Read every book I own.
4. Lose 15 pounds.
5. Run in at least one 5K race.
6. Attend the Bonnaroo music festival.
7. Watch no TV for a month.
8. Join a campaign for a local election.
9. Volunteer one weekend a month for at least three months.
10. Complete a Saturday New York Times crossword.
11. Learn a card trick.
12. Attend a Red’s game.
13. Attend a UK Basketball game.
14. Attend a LSU home football game.
15. Go to the Kentucky Derby.
16. Go to Keeneland.
17. Learn how to make a specialty drink.
18. Find the 100 secret packages in GTA: Vice City without a guide.
19. Win a National Championship in NCAA Football.
20. Achieve highest ranking in Hot Shots Golf 3.
21. Eat Vegetarian for a week.
22. Write 6 handwritten letters to my grandparents.
23. Visit New York City.
24. Visit Chicago.
25. Read three books about the history of Kentucky.
26. See all of Woody Allen’s movies.
27. Attend a Radiohead concert.
28. Attend a REM concert.
29. Go on an overnight hiking/camping trip.
30. Read 10 biographies.

32. Make my own art.
33. Travel somewhere by train.
34. Write a letter to my senator about an issue that is important to me.

37. Enter a short story in a contest.

41. See a performance at a local playhouse.

45. Read my own poetry at a poetry slam.

47. Do five minutes of standup at an open mic night.
48. Clean out and organize the closet in my living room.

82. Redesign the Little Room from the ground up.
83. Start an investment portfolio.
84. Bowl a 150 or higher.
85. Hit a bucket of balls at a driving range.
86. Teach myself to type (sad I know).
87. Go canoeing.
88. Rip all of my CD’s into iTunes.
89. Buy new speakers for my computer.
90. Keep and roll all of my change for the duration of the project.
91. Buy new living room furniture.
92. Plant and nurture a container garden.
93. Design and wear my own clothing using Café Press.
94. Finalize all of my existing short stories.
95. Finish the edits on my manuscript.
96. Continually submit both the manuscript and shorts until accepted or retired.
97. Watch all 3 Godfather movies.
98. Get a harness for the cats and try “walking” them.
99. Make a Rainy Day mix CD
100. No computer for a week except for writing (no blogging).
101. Get involved with BookCrossing.

This is a great idea Kyle and I wish you luck with it. I really should do something similar and make a list of things I would like to do or achieve.
Life is too short as it is and I think it is far too easy to just sit back and let it pass you by. If we do not go out and seize the day then we are not really living life.
